2023.6v1

  • New Python 3.10 API for Autograph Studio. You can now completely automate Autograph, react to events with Python code, and extend the UI with custom PySide panels and more. Check out the developer documentation

  • Floating license servers are now available for studios and educational institutions

  • The Project Panel now has a Tree View mode for quickly navigating in projects with a deep hierarchy of folders

  • New hardware-accelerated encoding support for AV1 using Nvenc (NVIDIA), AMF (AMD), and Quick Sync (Intel)

  • New UV Map Generator and revamped Vector Corner Pin which use motion estimation technology to efficiently track subtle motion. These tools are very useful to match-move tattoos, add makeup effects, logos on deformable surfaces etc.. This YouTube live video demonstrates how to use them

  • Camera Layer: The Camera Layer can now import an animated camera from any 3D Scenes or USD assets in the project Panel. This is useful for importing a pre-tracked Camera from third-party software (such as Syntheyes, Nuke, or Blender)

  • Camera Menu: New Cameras can now be created from the current view in the Viewer Panel, even when looking through an existing camera. The name of the camera is now displayed in the camera section of the Viewer Panel, and a color code is now displayed on the camera logo:

  • If looking through a non-moveable camera, the logo is orange/red

  • If looking through the Free Camera or any moveable camera, the logo is white
  • If looking through a moveable camera, and the Lock to Viewport Camera button is ON, the logo is Blue. This means that Camera movement in the Viewer Panel will be authored on the selected camera
  • Resolution Gate now also follows this color code

  • It is no longer possible to override a Camera Prim in a 3D Scene. Instead the new workflow is to use the Camera Layer and the new Import Button to use an existing Camera from an USD Asset or a Scene. However, you can still create brand new Cameras

  • 3D manipulation: significant performance increase when editing properties and moving objects

  • 3D Mesh:

    • New Camera UV Project Modifier
    • Mesh Primitives: Add OpenSubdiv Catmull-Clark and Bilinear subdivision for 3D Mesh Primitives generated in Autograph (Plane, Cube, Sphere, Cylinder, Cone)
    • Add Flat, Smooth, and Default shading option (funtional with Filament Renderer only)
  • Properties Panel: A new Lock option that lets you keep a dock active in the panel without changing with the active selection. You can now create multiple Properties Panels to easily navigate between multiple docks

  • New Shape Path Generators and Modifiers: Circle, Rectangle, Polygon, Star, and Trim Path

  • Shape Tool: it is now possible to quickly draw Ellipse or Rectangle paths

  • Fixed multiple stability issues and bugs

  • Shadertoy Compatibility: Now you can copy Shader code from shadertoy.com, paste it in a Shadertoy Generator to use Shaders in your projects. No need to tweak the code in most cases. A full Shadertoy playlist with tips on using Shadertoy in Autograph is available on our YouTube channel
